Push bike parking ticket

This is a weird one.

I got a parking ticket on my pushbike, chained up to a fence on private land I live on,

Got it off eBay cheap, no receipt or anything. Obviously a push bike isn’t dvla registered. How can a parking ticket work with a push bike?

Is it possible for them to even find out who the owner of the bike is?

BT, is gets worse every day

I seem to remember that one of the chimps put a ticket on a parking trolley a while back that was left in the street.

It had the supermarkets name on the trolley but they could not prove who the driver was :rotfl::rotfl:.
  • I mean ok granted my car which is parked on the drive has bungee chords that you use for bikes on it but surely the company won’t go oh look that car there has evidence of cycling on it that’s the car where we get owners details from? It was CM Services

    what does this ticket say?

some places have policys where any bike chained to a fence could be removed, so its worth checking.
If its a residential place is there anything that bans chaining/locking bikes to fences?

You have nothing to worry about from the scammers because they can't prove the person who left the bike there was the rider, and can't get keeper details from the DVLA because the PoFA 2012 doesn't apply to non motorised vehicles.

What does the lease/AST say, or indeed not say about bike parking?

What do the signs say about bike parking?

Complain to your MP about this unregulated scam. Assuming there is no restriction according to your lease/AST, local and national press might be interested.

I suspect this was the chimp who wanted to steal your bike, he failed and gave you a ticket. Was it stuck on with gorilla tape ??

There is a chance that a bike chained/locked in that location could be removed and a hefty fee charged for its recovery, so its important o check

  • Please post up a photo, this is too funny.
  • They left a hand written note saying

£100 to no 8, you can’t park there!

Legit that’s not even a joke
