Buying Electric Car as Self-employed
I am currently both employed and self-employed (not VAT registered as that is not applicable to the work I do).
I am fairly newly self-employed, with 2018-19 being only my 2nd tax year.
My self-employed income in the 1st year was very low and without having done the calculations yet my gross income before allowances etc for the 2nd is about £10,000.
I do travel as an essential part of both employment (for which I do make expense claims based on mileage at a set rate) and my self-employment. The mileage for the latter is not huge.
I would like to know what incentives / schemes / opportunities are there in my position to purchase an electric car (whether EV, Hybrid or PHEV etc)?
Many thanks.

I am in a similar situation and own an EV (don't do any travel as part of either my PAYE or self employment job though), and as far as I know there aren't any unless you register yourself as a limited company. But then if your business mileage is low, not sure you could get away with having it for a lot of personal use?
I know the BIK is set to drop to 2% soon though.0
