Box junction - fined but I have a good justification !

Hi guys

Some time ago I got fine for stopping in boxed junction in London. Have video of it.
I appealed to London tribunal but it was rejected and in their justification I haven’t found anything that answered why they did not take my particular circumstances into account, these were:

There were three lanes before and after box junction.
I was in right lane.
As green light lit and cars moved in front of boxed junction I have anticipated at least two spaces available in my lane
There was a car in front of me. We both moved forward and as I have moved onto boxed junction and had space another car from middle lane suddenly swerved into my lane ( as he didn’t have space after box junction in his lane ) and thus took my predicated space.

Why am I being punished for that. It’s said I have to predict situation on road and I did. I predicated space after box junction but some idiot cut into my lane on box junction. I can not predict the unpredictable and erratic behaviour of other road users.
Am I right or wrong in assuming I shouldn’t be fined.

You would be better taking this over to our friends on pepipoo.com as they are the council and police motoring specialists, whereas we deal with private parking charges here on MSE.

You will need to register on pepipoo with a non-Hotmail email address before reading the FAQs and posting your redacted charge with your query.

I think you are wrong in assuming you shouldn't be fined. You could have moved to occupy the free space in the middle lane, so as to leave the box clear. You knew that it is an offence to occupy the box, and you occupied it when you didn't have to.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Morally I would agree but legally I doubt you have a leg to stand on.

OP states middle lane wasn't free.

If you lost at London Tribunals, IMHO you need to pay. Ask on pepipoo.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You moved into a box junction without knowing that there was space the other side

    Highway code.
You MUST NOT enter the box until your exit road or lane is clear.

Note the MUST NOT meaning there is legislation behind it. Bang to rights

As I read it, the exit road was clear when they entered the box junction, but someone swapped lanes into it.
