Up and over garage door - changing locks

Hello folks,


Just moved into a new place and want to change the garage door lock.


This is the one currently installed:










What type of lock am I searching for to replace this?

Its a Single or half size Euro cylinder.
It should be pretty easy to replace, dont forget to measure it to get the right size replacement.

The keys don't look like what quality euro locks would have?
Remove it and take to a decent local locksmiths to be sure of dimensional compatibility?

If standard euro locks fit, then you could even get it to be same key as your front and back doors in a 'keyed alike' set if you have moved home and need new locks all round?

This is MSE, don't get ripped off at garage door suppliers, it's a standard Euro lock!

Get a much better lock for less than a fifth of that price with six tumblers and three keys e.g. https://www.toolstation.com/6-pin-single-euro-cylinder/p49510

There's someone on Ebay called the Garage Door Guru who is very helpful, send photos and measurements and they'll help you. I got a whole new lock for another make of door from them and it was only £16.

Thanks. All sorted. I dismantled the lock. Inside was a 40mm cylinder. Going to try this one from Amazon as a replacement.
