Grant of Probate revoking process?

Does anyone know what the process is when a grant of probate has been revoked? The person who is selling property to me, has had it revoked and been asked by the courts to send them a new application form, tax form and death certificate. Would this mean starting all over again?

It'll certainly slow things down, since the applicant is effectively back at the starting line. If you are seriously keen on the property, there is nothing to stop you exchanging contracts on a conditional basis, that condition being that probate is granted by [a given date of your choice/agreed with the vendor] with completion by [second date].
Before doing that, find out why the original grant was revoked. Has a later will come to light, perhaps - and is the person from whom you were originally buying the property still going to be the correct person for you to deal with once the new grant is issued?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Yes another will was found which named more beneficiaries as far as I know the executors are the same people, I didn’t think you could exchange contracts until the probate had been granted?0
