Afternoon all. We went shopping this morning as DD and dgs are coming to tea. DH is filling the paddling pool and planting up some gaps in the flowerbeds. Later he will pick up dgs from school and DD will come straight here from work on the bus. Sausages in roll and icecream have been requested. I am also cooking some chicken and making salads.

Gers sounds as though you could do with a bit of help now. Can you talk to the GP about what is available? Some respite care would do you good.

Well have a good day all and hugs and spoons all round.

Afternoon - DM is a changed person today! My 'thunderstorm' has certainly cleared the air significantly so I'm beginning to unwind myself.

The GP was very good and explained that my worries and fears are perfectly valid and have to be taken into account too. She's left me the DS1500 report which I'll send off tomorrow.

It's not so much respite I need, just a little respect and space. Thanks for the messages and PMs, it's all appreciated. :kisses:

I've been out to get DM a baguette and now have my feet up on the footstool. My cold is on the wane so it's all good!

    Afternoon all,

Warm but overcast here......it was sunny early morning.

My turn for dinner, ham(gammon) cabbage, carrots and mash if somebody peels the spuds (I don't ),otherwise steamed spuds.

Best wishes to all feeling under the weather, or looking after loved ones.

  • Gers, its amazing what throwing your toys out the pram achieves, It always makes me so cross when I have to do it with OH to get him back on the straight and narrow after he has been ill. Thanks to social services I did not have to do it this time, 6 days in respite care was enough.......to see him this week you would never believe he had spent 2 weeks in hospital...........

Hi chums sorry I have been MIA but life seems to have got in the way .I have been manically busy for the past few weeks with DGC taking up my life at the moment DGS ben is moving out to live in a house share with his pals in London He has a full tiem teaching job rather than an agency one which is good and I have been searching around to get him odds and ends for his new home DGD Holly whose birthday is tomorrow has finally got the keys to her new house which she bought with her fiancee so again good old Granny has been finding odds and ends for her DGSs Jack and Henry both are doing summer jobs and I am up at 05.30 every morning to get Henry to work by 0.7.00 and I pick him up again at 4.30.DGS Jack has had alternating shifts so I am trying to get him to work and back at the same time to save them both their hard earned cash for Uni in September.Plus the youngest DGS Mikey is doing some of his GCSEs this year a year early so he needs a bit of a boot up the rear end or he would be playing on his Xbox and not revising so Granny is hot on his tail as well :) I fell as though I have hardly been home for the past three or four weeks and trying to fit normal life around the boys is a bit hectic at times .I pinched an hour this afternoon to sit with my feet up and watch some tennis and it was bliss with a large cuppa :) But come September I will be down to only one DGS left at home to sort out so my life ,hopefully will regain some normality.

I have my follow up appointment for my Dr on Monday before book club so I am hoping the blood pressure medication he gave me has worked (although with all the haring around it would be a miracle :)) Last time it was 210/110 and that's apparently not very good. but slowing down is not an option at the moment
Still six weeks tomorrow and we are off to our beloved IoW for a fortnights holiday and then when I come home I have a week in Torquay in mid-September, Hope all well with my 'chums' on here and I will try to find a bit more 'me' time I think

Take care all ,its very warm in Kent at the moment and I shall do the ironing tomorrow when its hopefully a bit cooler

    Cheers chums

    Hi everyone
Good news at last about little granddaughter! She has been fed high calorie milk straight into her bowel this week and has put on 11oz in just 3 days! The doctors have decided she will be sent home being tube fed until she has put on enough weight. Then she will be re-admitted to hospital to be bottle fed and see what happens. There is a chance that the problem with her stomach will rectify itself but also a chance it could be a longer term problem....just have to wait and see.
So once DD has been taught how to feed her she should be discharged, probably at the beginning of next week. I am going to the hospital to visit tomorrow.
Thank you everyone for your good wishes, they have meant a lot to me
