Halifax mortgage PPI

Does anyone know if what they say is correct?
You are making a PPI complaint. Only the MPPI part is PPI. Life assurance, critical illness cover and income protection (when included) is not PPI. So, yes it is correct.I was told that I had to have the PPI added onto my policy as it was my first mortgage.
There were some deals in the 90s that did require it as a condition of the deal. Life assurance was also mandatory until the mid to late 90s. However, apart from those, it has always been optional.
What evidence do you have to support your allegation?
Remember that every fraudulent/try-it-on complaint uses that reason as well and there is rarely anything to confirm that actually happened. It is one of the weakest complaint reasons going and rarely sees success on that particular point.either that or the mortgage adviser lied.
Even if they lied, what evidence is there to suggest that they did? This is the problem you have when relying on a weak reason.
Halifax used to be a pushover with PPI complaints, even MPPI where most failed. However, now they have less complaints to deal with, they are not auto-paying out as much. However, banks are still a bit scattergun when it comes to complaints and you can never predict their position.0
