Hi I had a mortgage with Abbey (2001)which then changed to Abbey National and then to Santander
I cannot find any references to the mortgage on a few abbey or A/N statements
My bank account no has never changed since opening abbey acct yet Santander cannot find any record of this mortgage which I had and paid off in 2003 when we remortgaged for new house ....also had a personal loan for £6000 in 2002 which was paid off 2003 and again no record of it ...is it normal for banks to dispose of these records and remove the link to my still the same account no

What exactly are you looking for?
If MPPI, then Santander retailed it using a monthly premium product with its own direct debit. i.e. it wasn't built into the mortgage.s it normal for banks to dispose of these records and remove the link to my still the same account no
6 years after repayment is typical. Some go towards 10 years.0 -

Have you forgotten?
Nothing has changed (except that more time has passed and with it the likelihood of any records being available has reduced still further)
I think you'll need to move on from this, it was a long shot in 2017..0
