Service to check your OK

Hi, I am retired & live on my own, healthy & very happy to live this way with very little contact with the outside world as i am in a nice peaceful rural area with no neighbours & love the way i live.
Is there a service that checks up on you in case of illness, possible accident or even death. IE: a reply text service or somthing similar.
So if you dont reply within a certain time, it may start an alarm & a check on you.
Don't have any family or relatives or friends that i would want to get involved. But would also not like to be found weeks after an accident or even death as this could possibly upset the finder for a long time.
Sorry if it all sounds a bit morbid, but it is purely being practical & found it strange i couldn't find a service for this as it must be common. Any suggestions??
Could be a business opportunity for someone.?? Thanks

My friend's mum has Alzheimers and I know that in the earlier stages there was something that recognised her routine and if she didn't do something like put the kettle on, they would get an alert.

I suppose without anyone you're in contact with - who would the alert go to? Perhaps an emergency button round your neck or wherever they put them these days that connects to the emergency services? But then you'd have to presume you'd be in a position to know something was happening.

Yep, morbid, but more practical. It's the one certainty we all have so I really don't know why people find it so hard to talk about.

I'll prob think of something later so may be back!

There is a not for profit organisation in Glasgow that does daily befriending calls if you live in Glasgow or south ayrshire and that is free I think https://www.goodmorningservice.co.uk/
There might be a similar volunteer befriending scheme elsewhere.

The Red Cross in our area used to run a scheme (they might still run it, I'm not sure). Each morning, the people on the scheme would put a card in the window, and volunteers would check on their way to work or school that it was showing. If it wasn't, the school (in the case of pupil volunteers) contacted the Red Cross. I assume that adult volunteers contacted the Red Cross themselves.

While i am fit & all is ok, i was hoping there might be somthing simple like a text service that you reply to every day or every few days. This would force you to acknowledge the service & cancel any checks for a day or few days. Seems like it would be simple service to abled people & not expensive.

http://eyeonapp.com/about/ Is perhaps what you want? Others exist.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Ah! Well done. Looks like what i am after. Tying to find this sort of thing is not easy unless you put in the right search. Never thought of looking at apps. Thanks

That does look like a good idea but it says it would contact three people who you set. So i'm not sure how it would work in your situation where you say you have no family, friends etc that you would want to be involved?

Maybe Age Concern/Age UK would know of such a service? It's not a service I would require myself, though I live on my own, but I'd give my local office a ring if I did require it.

It's certainly something they should know about, so there's a good chance they will, as this is primarily an issue that is most likely to concern older people.
