The last wake I went to everybody moved from the crem to the pub where we had food organised.

Most people had a drink or two and it was just nibbles. No one expected lunch except the kids - of which there was plenty for them to help themselves to because everyone else just grazed.

That aside and it was a bit of light hearted relief on the day, 2 old dudes came and sat down in the area we had reserved and ordered their lunch, oblivious to the fact they had sat in on a private gathering. Gave us all a giggle :)

For my father recently 110 at crem.

About 40 came for sandwiches / cake / tea / coffee, those were mainly the long distance travellers.

You simply cannot tell, just tel lthe bar / hotel / venue to be on stand by to make more sandwiches etc if needed.

I am so sorry for your loss, and now this puzzling admin.
If you tell the pub almost certainly 10 but maybe 30 & then another unexpected layer, that covers you, & in their professional experience they can figure how best to cope. You may want to agree a per head rate up to 30 & a flat lump to cover the unexpected? (And also rule out any food you definitely wouldn't eat as leftovers yourselves. You may as well be practical.)
