Coin Valuation

Hi Guys,
No idea where to post this so I'll try in here!
I have a coin collection which has been in the family for 25yrs. No idea if there's anything in here good / bad / rare.
Does anyone have any recommendations as to who would be able to fairly value these? I guess I'm looking for someone with trustworthiness.
thanks.

What sort of coin?
Most 25 year old coins are worth the value on the coin...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
You might try finding a local auction and see if they can assist, many former free valuations - but based on the likely auction sales value.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Try a member of the British Numismatic Association. They're reputable and you can then find your nearest one.
It also depends what you want the valuation for. If you're planning to sell then it's best to try auction houses and coin dealers. If it's just for valuation then the dealers will probably be better.
You can also try completed listing search on Ebay but that will only tell you for the last 30 days. If something isn't on there it may not mean it's worthless, it could be the opposite.
Also worth a Google. There are lots of online dealers that have products that would be easy to find together with prices..0 -

If it is a biscuit tin of pre-decimal milled coins that someone has taken out of their change at some time in the hope they may be worth something in the future then highly unlikely to be of any value.
If trays of Roman denarii, Saxon sceattas or medieval hammered coins then could be valuable but even then it depends on rarity and condition rather than just age.
If the latter I can message you with details of a reputable firm that I deal with, but not posting here as he has enough enquiries regarding the former already!0 -
I sold a load of old coins on eBay a few years ago, some sold for quite a bit. Look for some of your coins to see if anyone selling similar? That's always a good starting point.0
