Hi and welcome to the forum.

Have you put up your SOA (statement of affairs) listing all your incomings, outgoings and debts??

If not definately do as you will be amazed the amount of advice you will get.

Good luck with your journey :D

  • some of the advice you might not want mind:rotfl: :rotfl: No seriously, welcome! Pleanty of us around until then so why not join us on the longhaulers thread & we'll all get through it togeather! If you post your SOA you can get hints on where to cut back but its not something you have to do (I never have!!) but it does help to write it down. A spending diary & flogging stuff on ebay etc helps...Just wanted to say welcome really!

It's not compulsory but we might be able to shave a couple of years off that 6-7 year target and save you £100s, if not £1000s, in the process!

Welcome and good luck with it all! :)

  • OK then...... my SOA's...... feel free to [strike]rip it to shreds[/strike] err, i mean comment constructively! lol :D

    Incomings: (all per month)
    Wage: £1450 after deductions
Mystery shopping: £50 after deductions (I recommend mystery shopping its great i get to act like a spy...)

    Outgoings:
    (again all per month)
Rent and council tax: £500 (was sharing but my OH left and I'm looking for somewhere smaller and cheaper)
    Manweb: £60
    TV licence: £12
    Sky tv: £38
Mobile: £35 (O2 Simplicity, i recommend if you're not bothered about getting a new mobile and hate being tied into a long contract. I do!)
    Water rates: £20
    M&S loan:
£116 (36 months to go. NO PPI on it.)
LTSB loan: £150 (60 months to go, no PPI although they really tried to bully me!)
BT (broadband and home phone): £20
    Bus pass: £50
Credit card: (LTSB VISA, M/C paid off yay!) £150 (£5500 left to go)
Food: £120 (I'm a big fella and need my food.... :D)
Sudaries: £200 (Clothes going out and presents etc. Although Xmas is sorted already)

I've got £50 of stamps for Tescos for Xmas food and also £20 of clubcard vouchers saved too, so i think all Xmas stuff is sorted.

Now, I realise that I'm COPING on this, but I want to be debt free. I currently have reclaiming going on thats worth a possible £2500 to me. I was going to use this on paying off the card first.

I also have some overtime coming up in my works, so hopefully will be able to add approx £250 a month extra till April, again off the credit card.

I've raised £600 on ebay and am apsolutely floored as to the ways you guys have to make money. I will be investigating further.

I'm utterly ashamed of myself for all this debt. I could blame the ex, but its my name on the documents so i've got to get on with it. I will admit to writing this has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.

So guys and gals. Fire away! (But please be gentle, i'm sensitive! lol)
