I don't think I criticised anyone. I merely pointed out a fact in the original post.0 -

I apologise, i didn't see that.
However, not checking bank accounts is no excuse, sorry. I've suffered mental health for years and how someone can go months without checking their bank account is beyond me. If i didn't check my bank then i'd have no idea how my finances were looking and for me that would only make my mental health worse.0 -
I can see this checking/not checking bank accounts business from both sides as I've done both, checked obsessively at one stage in my life and not been able to face it for weeks on end at another.
Rightly or wrongly different people approach things differently, but I think that the important thing is that the OP recognizes that they made a mistake by not checking.
Also the OP has acknowledged that a debt is owed to the 'employer' and wants to repay them. I think that a lot more criticism would be warranted if the OP was asking for advice on how to avoid paying the money back.0 -
OP. Can I just add that it is really important that you do check your UC online journal frequently. If you do not do this you risk missing messages left for you by the DWP and if you fail to complete any tasks they set you this could disrupt or end your claim.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
