Flora Street Carpark Restricted area next to Iceland. I WON!!!

Hi all,
I parked in the area next to the hatched area at the side of Iceland. I was there for 5 minutes. I received a PCN. I instantly appealed and it was instantly dismissed, seriously I don't even think they read it, but I needed it for my paper trail. After this came the onslaught of phonecalls, text messages, and letters.....so many letters. I contacted them each time and asked them to stop harassing me and requested that they take me to court. After an 18 month wait the court papers arrived. During my wait I'd visited the carpark each time I drove past and photographed the many cars parked in this area (I'm happy to send you these!!) To use as evidence that it's a problem spot. I also took photographs of the signage (set 800mm higher than recommended) and of the graffiti when a kind user spray painted 'no parking' across the space, also of the area being jet washed clean afterwards 🤦!♀️
We went to court today, the judge dismissed the 'not parked in a bay' excuse as she took this to mean parked over multiple bays, she concentrated instead on the parked in a restricted zone section. I was parked next to a restricted zone, there were no road markings to state the area I was in, was restricted, this is what won it, unclear restriction markings, that and one of the photographs they themselves provided was a birds eye view of the area showing where their signage was, sadly for them however there were 5 cars parked in the area that they were taking me to court for!!! Sucks to be them today!!! Keep fighting lovelies and do not under any circumstances let them win xx

Thank you for providing this (as per my request on one of the other threads you posted on), appreciated.
Well done, once again, on your win. :TPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Well done. They have lost a number of cases recently on their home ground. Courts are getting fed up with them.

Hi Jussy, your story fills me with optimism!
Is there any chance you could share the images you took of other cars parked in this area? I did a similar thing to you and took photos of the scores of other cars parked in this area but it was so long ago that I've since changed phones and lost them. Now 3 years on I'm off to court!
Thanks in advance0 -
Wonderful!
Happy New Year to you!0 -
Never saw this one at the time but happy to see another VCS one bite the dust!
