BT YouView digital tv recorder DTR-2100 Humax box

Ive just started using one of these BT tv recorder boxes and so far it’s been brilliant - I’ve not used a pvr for yonks so a big improvement is apparent since the last one went west about a decade ago.
But what’s the USB port on the box for? Can the recordings be backed up onto a usb device?

I don't know about the DTR-2100 but I have the FVP-4000T
The USB device can be used to copy recordings, or you can play media from the USB deviceChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -

Is that not copy stuff onto a USB drive to play through the TV Box .
Not copy stuff from TV Box .0 -
On mine you highlight the recording and press the + button, then select Move or Copy.
It does take a while to copy the fileChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
