Garden Wall quote too high?

My builder who has done other work on my house which I am happy with wants to charge a total of £10140 + vat for the garden wall at the front of my house. It is just a boundry wall - it does not hold anything up. The work involves demolishing the existing wall (same size) and taking it away - putting in new footings and building the new wall - double skinned. It is to be pointed with lime mortar although the bricks are not old stock . The wall is 13 metres - long - the height is just under 1 metre. It is slightly curved. The price is made up of £7644 for demolishing the old wall and rebuilding it . He then added £2480 for the footings as he said that the footings of the old wall were really poor so needed to be dug out and done again. This seems a lot . What is reasonable cost for a wall of this kind? Thanks for your help.

I'm no expert but that seems like quite a lot of money for what is required.

As Phil suggests it would be wise to seek additional quotes, at least three or four, so you know your not being completely fleeced.

A quick google suggests a new double skin garden wall, 1x12 metres, should be less than 2k (per myjobquote.co.uk).
