hi just bought a fiesta st from the carshop, have noticed a sound when pulling away in 1st or 2nd at around 2000rpm.
It is like a whistling noise similar to if you blew across a wine or milk bottle, is this something to be concerned about?
Have looked online and there is mention of similar noises.
Car came with 3 months carshop 'warranty' and is under manufacturers warranty until april next year.
if it is a fault and not normal do i take it to carshop or ford?

Boost leak?
If you have only just bought it and you don't think its correct, take it back for their opinion.Im A Budding Neil Woodford.0 -
Turbo. Could just be a loose hose, could be the turbo itself failing, could be perfectly normal and you're just not used to it.0

Turbo spooling up, I trust if you continue to drive in that gear for a couple of seconds more the turbo reaches its boosting point.
Older cars have a much louder noise. My Fiesta RS and Escort RS both make a very loud spool up noise, Then scream on full boost.
enjoy the car, They're one of the greatest modern small hatchback on the market.0 -
They are a nice little car. everybody wants one, so get a disklok and use it every night, or security posts on your drive.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Thanks for replies I have looked a lot online and it seems it may be a ‘normal’ noise, it only does it for a few seconds but it does it in reverse too! Think I’ll take it back to carshop next week just to make sure all is as it should be.0

Turbos still work in reverse!0
