Private Parking Ticket- Incorrect details

Hiya,

I got a private ticket for parking on private land. They've given me a hand filled in ticket with my reg number and my car make incorrect. What's the best way to deal with this?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

The best way to start dealing with this is to read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1, which provides you with a ready to send template - to use only at the correct time point. Please read it carefully so you get this absolutely right. It is not a skim read.

You are now ensnared in a tricky process that you can only extricate yourself from if you are prepared to put in the legwork.

Why haven't you told us which private parking company (PPC) is pursuing you? There is different advice depending on which one is involved.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Do you mean the REG NO was also incorrect? UKPC, is my bet.

Anyway see the NEWBIES thread, that's why it's near the top to read first.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

  • Yes, my car reg is missing a digit and my car is a toyota and they have miss spelled it in the invoice/fine. I did read through the newbies thread but cant find anything which tell you what to do if they have filled the invoice/fine out with incorrect car details.

The company is UKPS, I've checked on the IPC website and it says they are a registered member. Any advice?

forget about it being incorrectly filled in

follow the NEWBIES advice for IPC members , which is usually to wait for a postal notice and then appeal it as keeper with the template

I think you must have missed this bit in the first post of the Newbies thread
Q - ''I have read the NEWBIES thread but cannot find anything specific to my case...my case is different''.

A - NO IT ISN'T. YOU DO NOT NEED SPECIFICS. FORGET THE DETAIL, MOST CASES ARE ALL THE SAME.
