We're looking at getting an intex (inflatable) hot tub for around £400. Does anyone own anything similar who can give me an idea of how much they cost to run.
Thanks

If you are worried about costs it is not for you.
All depends on where you keep it.
It a nicely heated room? Cost = A Lot.
Outside. Cost = Triple that and then some.0 -
We're not necessarily worried about costs but would like to make an informed decision
thanks for your reply

Those are for 'proper' well-insulated hot tubs. Inflatables will be relatively poorly insulated, so likely cost more. Don't forget the cost of chemicals, test kits, filters and water (it needs changing from time to time) as well.
Lay-Z-spa (another inflatable) say £7-10 a week, but I'd take that with a pinch of salt. https://www.lay-z-spa.co.uk/buyers-frequently-asked-questions#topbuyers0 -
to find out how many kwh you need to heat the water use the following formula
volume in litres x 4 x temperature rise in degrees centigrade / 3412
so to raise the water temperature from say 20 to 40 degrees of a 700 litre tub will take 700x4x20/3412 = 16.4kwh at say 15p/kwh = around £2.50 plus the cost of energy for the pump and any other stuff.
So you could easilly get through around £3 a day, more if the tub is larger or the water starts off at a temperature lower than 20 degrees.
Dunno what size the heater is but a 2kwh one would take around eight hoursNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
If you have gas boiler water heating, it could make sense to use a hose from a hot tap for part of the initial fill (after a quantity of cold water).0
