Hot tub running costs

We're looking at getting an intex (inflatable) hot tub for around £400. Does anyone own anything similar who can give me an idea of how much they cost to run.
Thanks

If I bothered looking at my smart meter

It’s possible to calculate an approximate cost if you know the volume of water it holds and how often you’re likely to use it and when.
The amount of energy it takes to heat a given volume of water by one degree is a known amount, so if you know you want to heat 500 litres of water from say, 18C to 35C, it will take a certain amount of energy. Convert that into Watts and use the price you pay per kWh of electricity to calculate the cost. You need to know the power of the heater unit, too.
Other people’s experiences are only useful if you know what temperature they heat the water to, how often they use it and what they pay per unit of electricity. The variance across those things could be quite marked, so might not give you a reliable guide.0 -
I had a similar hot tub, but with a hard lid that was meant to reduce running cost, it still cost me about £40 a month. They are no insulated like a premium hot tub, so the running costs will be higher. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE0

I don't know about the inflatable tubs. We have holiday cottages with Hot Springs tubs and they cost us approximately £30 per month electricity. They are kept at 38.5c and cleaned / emptied and refilled every 5 or 7 days (depending on new arrivals).0

I have a lay z spa Vegas, and its costing me around £40 per month to run, that with typical use of up to 1 hour per day, where the more you use it the more it will cost.
Its also sat on two layers of foam mats.
there is a lay z spa group on Facebook which has loads of info on it for running hot tubs in general.0
