Anyone still have outstanding parcels due to strike???

I am just wondering how the situation is with regard to parcels that went walkabouts during the strike!

I was due a parcel into this country from Canada around the 12th October and there is still no sign of it. I know alot of people were in the same boat, and a large amount went missing around this time.

Apologies if this has been discussed recently, I did have a quick scan through old posts, but I have moved house and not been online for a while, with the computer going up the swanny and being told conflicting advice from AOL about it!! Anyway they have left me with a VERY slow connection in the meantime while it is fixed, so trawling the internet is a painstaking task!! thankfully they have put a credit on the account for all the trouble, so at least I'm not paying for it!! he he

Anyone else still missing things???

  • I am still waiting for a parcel I sent to someone on Ebay to arrive. it was posted mid October and still no sign. All the others have been delivered but this one small packet.

The post mistress at our local PO says it is probably somewhere in the sorting office and the pile was just chipped away at with no overtime when the posties had time to do it!

The other parcels I sent took over 3 weeks and one only went 8 miles!

No, but post is still taking ages. A parcel I sent first class three weeks ago has only just turned up and the rest are taking much longer than usual.

as ive said in other posts there are still issues.

    heres one example

coupled with the new later start times we are seeing both foot walks and van deliveries failing on a daily basisi now.
the new later start times(in my office at least) are not working.unfortunatly an answer isnt simple and in real term our office appears to need more driver duties to cope.
given RM are looking ot cut staff i dont see that happening.
we have drivers doing extra 'packet runs' in overtime but unfortunatly thertes not enough vans to do this constantly

I never realised how long the striking was going to affect the country!!

On our new road we have moved to, we have a different postman nearly every day, and it's delivered at all times of the day. I don't think we will be having the good service we used to with the friendly postman who had our old round, and practically knew us all by name!

I've seen van deliveries of parcels at all times of the day aswell, where as before it was pretty much guaranteed the same time each day, and the lady has been out doing Sunday deliveries again even though they have stopped collections on Sunday, so I didn't think she would be at work!!

I'm not overly worried what time its delivered as most people are at work anyway and as long as it's there by the time they are home that's fine, but I have to say it does seem like RM have c****d up the system with these new hours! I am starting to side with the postmen!

Here's hoping things get delivered soon (and my parcel finds it's way to the new house!) It was all things I bought to sell on ebay in the next 2 weeks, so you can see why I am getting worried! Not only have I lost the money I spent so far, but also my profits too!! AAGH!!

    Thank you for your replies,

im still waiting for one item.
ive given up on it now. the royal mail sucks.
    Get some gorm.
  • I've recently refunded 3 customers (2 in UK, 1 in Japan) for missing parcels posted during or just after the strikes. I'll fill in the forms to try to claim from RM, but I'm not really sure what happens if any of them arrive in the meantime.
  • I didnt receive a parcel which was posted on 3rd October. Despite the seller saying that she didnt refund for lost parcels I had paid by paypal and opened a dispute. She sent me a replacement which arrived a couple of days later.
