Can probate be claimed for twice?

Hi all,
I was just about to order a copy of my mum's will online and found another person of the same name who died a few days after mum and whose will and probate is also registered in Winchester ( my mum's will is there despite not being from that city).

Her will was overturned after death from being a Nil Band Trust when it didn't seem possible and the solicitors who originally dealt with the will and probate received 'regulatory and disciplinary action' by the SRC and were disbanded. Would it be possible or 'useful' for a not so honest solicitor to put the will through in two parts?

I'm just curious really and almost tempted to order the other persons will!

Probably just one of those coincidences but for £10 you can satisfy your curiosity.
A death certificate would have been provided for each so unless the date of death and name were exactly the same...

Only with an extraordinary amount of fraudulent activity going on, and even then the Probate Office would almost certainly pick it up.

Get a copy of the will if you're really that interested: https://www.gov.uk/wills-probate-inheritance/searching-for-probate-records
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
