Hi all,
I'v just found my the solicitor's Estate Accounts for the winding up of my mum's estate in 2007. Should the final total/payment/transfers/liabilities total be the same as the amount that shows on the Grant of Probate? It's £10-£12,000 different.

The Grant of Probate reflects the value of the assets in the estate less any debts owed by the deceased at date of death.
The solicitors fees for probate are not reflected in the Grant figures, so the estate account difference would be accounted for by solicitors fees.0 -
Plus assets may have been sold at a difference price, their may have been bills to paid or income, say savings interest coming in.
The estate account should reconcile all the income and expenditure.0 -
I sold house under probate for 10k less than the amount I put on the probate form - that would have shown up as a difference even without solicitors fees0
