Got a job - Benefits run on? (ESA / CTR / HB

Hello,
after a period of illness, a friend has now obtained a job.
Friend has been on IR ESA (was Contributions based but swapped over after the 365 day rule) and HB and CTR - They have been claiming for about 18 months
At the new job they will be earning over the benefits threshold but it is monthly paid, so transitioning a month with no money is an issue.
Im looking for advice if there is any benefits run on, for example:-
Job starts on 1st August - so benefits claim is stopped the day before.
First pay is 1st September
We have looked online and cannot work out for sure if friend will be possibly entitled to any benefits run on, so they can eat /heat their home, and pay the rent - in the first month whilst they are awaiting their first wage?

There's no run on of ESA, it will stop when they start work.
There's a 4 week run on of housing benefit and council tax reduction.
Have they used a benefit calculator to see if they will be entitled to Universal Credit?0 -
As said, I don't think there is a run on - but I do remember a client of mine getting some travel costs and also money for job uniform. He was on ESA. Maybe someone will know what I'm talking about and can help?Single woman doing it on my own... First house bought June 2021!

1st August is a Thursday so the benefit claim stops 31 July
but it runs on to the Sunday of the benefit week so 04 August
4 week run on from 05 Aug to 01 Sept
oh and ask for the run on - sometimes they forget“You’re only here for a short visit.

They need to look up Flexible Support Fund?0
-
OH thanks, we had never heard of any flexible support fund
It seems that HB and CT will hopefully run on, but they are worried about food and energy top ups whilst waiting a month for their first pay check
can all of this be organised with one phone call to the job centre?
i mean how do they expect people to live, for the first month with no wage? its all confusingThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
They may not qualify for the flexible support fund because once they start work their ESA will end. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/78221/response/194315/attach/3/FOI%201812%20Guidance.pdfOH thanks, we had never heard of any flexible support fund

Has anyone here actually managed to get any additional financial help? (other than HB and CT)
