Staying in Spain for a Month. Mobile Broadband options?

Hello. I will be staying in Spain for a month in August. However, while I'm over there I will need to work. I will require a broadband connection with a large amount of data transferring all day. I've been told by the accommodation people that there is decent broadband in the apartment, however, I would like to sort a backup plan in case this isn't the case.

Can anyone help with some recommendations of perhaps mobile dongles, etc that I could use? I need a LOT of data and tethering it to a phone isn't going to work...!

TIA!

Why isn't tethering to a phone going to work? It's doing the same job as a mobile broadband dongle. Whether or not the SIM card in it has access to enough data is another matter, although a dongle has the same issue.

If you really want to buy a dongle, personally I'd go for a mobile wifi one, as it saves having to mess up your computer's network configuration.

I guess this question is really more about which SIM card to use. You'll need to decide whether it works out better to take a UK SIM card with you or buy one locally. How much data are you talking about?

Hi. The reason is because I use a massive amount of data. From what I’ve seen these data plans allow for only a certain amount. I need to check but I’m pretty sure I can do 20gb per day easily....!

So if you know that, what is it that you want?

    Orange has a SIM with a 30GB allowance https://en.orange.es
    Simyo 28 GB for 17 euros https://www.simyo.es/ofertas-prepago.html
In addition, SIMYO gives you an extra 20 GB for free. So perhaps up to 48 GB.
In addition you can continue to add data packs.

It's not about a device. You can pick up a MiFi for around £20. It's about the data allowance that is supplied with the local SIM.

So it’s essentially all about a high-data local SIM? Okay, I’ll check it out. :)

What do you need 20GB per day for?
Could you not stay in a place with wifi internet?

I can't see any sim could do 620GB for a reasonable price.

I google and found this website. This could give you some ideas how much it cost...

I need it because I'm a 3D designer, when I work remotely my drive is constantly going back and forth to my remote NAS drive. I deal with large files consistently too.

I am actually staying somewhere that's supposedly got a fibre broadband connection but I don't want to get there and find out it's not good enough - then not have a good backup plan.

If I don't have a backup plan in this circumstance I'll have to go home. I don't want to to that!

    From your link; https://simcard.spainsur.com/38-250gb-data

I wouldn't depend on mobile Internet for such large files.
