He has. The new policy was dated to start on 1st FEb,his wife visited GP on 30th Jan and was then referred for investigations at the breast clinic.
Even if the applications were completed at the start of Jan, because the cover was not yet in force the OP's wife was obliged to inform L&G of any material changes to their circumstances.
As far as I'm aware, the only company that doesn't need to be informed of any changes from the point of application to the cover going on risk is AIG.0 -
Thanks for all messages of support and advice - I have understandably been offline for the last few months looking after my wife and family.
Just to update - as our previous policy was still operational at the time of first symptoms, then a claim has been agreed on this. The new policy has been treated as an accidental non-disclosure, all of the policy payments have been refunded and L & G have cancelled the policy. They will not cover my wife but have offered me a policy on my own.0
