New sandstone patio - spot bedding?

After some advice as I know nothing about patios
Just had our new Umbra sandstone patio laid and was disappointed to see circular patches appearing (see photos)
The guy who fitted them tells me this will disappear but from googling it looks like this could be spot bedding.
Would any experts be able to help? I have paid 50% of the cost to him already but loathe to pay out the rest without knowing if these will actually disappear over time
He's coming back tomorrow to take a look

Hi yes I have done that, but wasn't sure if ours was due to spot bedding. Hoping someone more experienced can advise.0

Looks like spot bedding to me. Not a method I've ever used. I know a few people who use it, as it can be easier to get the slabs level for them, but it's a poor way to do the job.0

Reflective staining:Initially, they may appear faint and barely discernible but they often become stronger, darker, more marked, with time....from what we've seen to date, it seems to be a more-or-less permanent disfigurement

I wouldn't be happy.0 -

Our old patio was laid with spot bedding - the spots appeared in damp weather and every time it rained because the slabs dried out at different stages.
The seller of the sandstone slabs should give recommended laying advice - can you see whether your guy has complied with it?0 -
Hi all
Thanks for replies, he has now lifted tiles and will re-lay. He wants to use the existing slabs, is this ok or is the staining permanent.? Ideally I would like new slabs
Also, I've read they need to be laid on a full mortar bed. Can screed be used?0
