Roof Lantern opening - is it worth it?

We have the options between
Contemporary lantern. 2m x 1m. all white. Double glazed, Activ Blu glass. No opening.
Option 2 Regular lantern design. 2m x 1m. all white. Double glazed. Activ Blu glass. One manual opening panel with pole
Option 3 Regular lantern design. 2m x 1m. all white. Double glazed. Activ Blu glass. One electric opening panel with 1 rocker switch.
Visually, we like the contemporary design with has less divisions on the glass and thus allowing more light coming through.
But I thought the opening on top of the roof is handy in hot days and to send trapped insects out. However, the cost difference is over £ 800 and we are not sure if it is worth to switch to the regular design which has a lot more divisions on the glass.
Any thought is appreciated.

No, it will be in the living room area. My partner prefers without the opening as he fear the risk of leaking over years.
Why in the kitchen it makes a difference?0 -
£800 to open a roof window in the UK...
Unless your room is a south facing sweat box it's a bit pointless. It's £800 remember.
We're building our own house and aren't scrimping by any stretch of the imagination, but our rooflights don't open. There are two opening windows already in the room.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

We get a lot of insects in ours when we have the bifold doors open so an opening would be handy - but I probably wouldn't pay the extra for it! and certainly not if it meant going for a less attractive design0
