Lloyds Bank pushed me to Bankruptcy

But even guy from Bankruptcy said, so by paying so much interested to all my bank over 10 years I paid off all I owned them long time before I gone bankrupt.
Unfortunately guy from Bankruptcy was wrong. Unless your borrowing was interest and fee free, both the capital and the interest needs to be repaid.0 -
"Responsible Lending" - as far I understand government put some rules to lender, what they have to do to stop people's going in to debs.
Lloyds was very well aware about my situation as all my monthly payment's (nearly £1000) gone from they account, my monthly income also go in to they account and this was not for 18 months what government wont leader to check but build over 10 years. If all of leader would check me well as they supposed to do) I would not be able to go as far. If one of them would break the rules thinking: "he is paying regularly so yeah, let's give him some more money even so he is so far in his debt" this company should be paying for not doing what the should do.
I was happy when everybody been increasing they credit limit, but without this I would still manage, they should suspend my card as is happening now since 2018 when you are only paying a minimum payment and I would be able to get out of the debs without having to go bankrupt. This is the way government is pushing now, and in this way should treat me Lloyds Bank - NOT GIVING ME ENyTHING !!!0 -

If you are unable to manage your own finances and manage your own money you need to get someone else to do it for you ASAP to stop you getting into debt again.
The majority of Adults in the country can manage their own money so they don't need to be told by the banks they can't afford credit they have applied for.
As an Adult you need to take responsibility for your actions and not blame the banks.0 -

I started a thread for some legal advice and not for a moral one. I do manage my finance now, but sound like you are all working for a bank and completely ignoring what I'm writing. Bank should do some think to make sure I'm not going into a deep problem's and he did nothing. He was aware I'm in debs, but ignored this because I was regularly paying off everything. This is where problem start and government is dealing with that situation, but obviously I got to get some help and advise somewhere else. Will keep this topic up to date after ill maybe go in to legal way to get my rights. Thank you for all for your time and advise.0 -
Okay then - legal advice -
It is not the bank's legal duty to save you from yourself, there is absolutely nothing you can do within the law to chase them for anything at all.(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)0 -
Any advice what should do or where to ask for help or in my case I'm the only person been fault for my situation and should not blame anybody else?
Ignoring the moralising replies (which, as you quite rightly point out, you didn't ask for) the short answer to your last question in your opening post is, yes, you are probably the only person at fault - and no you certainly can't blame the bank.
Not what you want to hear, sorry.0 -
No sorry.
The fault is yours.
Any compo would be deducted from the money you owe them which they can also rightly do.
Pointless trying to go after this0 -
If you want legal advice you have to talk to a solicitor. On an open public forum you are bound to get all sorts of good and bad advice.I started a thread for some legal advice and not for a moral one. If by your own account you have been regularly paying off everything, you were assessed as being able to continue repaying the increased amount that you yourself requested. It wasn't them doing it unilaterally or offering it unsolicited.
Within the T&C of the overdraft there is most likely a clause allowing Lloyds to change the fees charged for overdraft, again more than likely this happened after a notice period. If the new terms were unacceptable you could have sought another lender how's conditions were better.
That being said FCA already cracked down on overdraft fees. Whether there will be a retrospective application of the rules at some point in the future I don't know. As it stands I don't see you having any claim, but again INAL0 -

I wasn't given you moral advice i was simply saying if you think the bank should be telling you how to manage your finances then you shouldn't be managing them yourself.
As a financially responsible adult i would not want any bank telling me that i couldn't afford a product i applied for and i expect to be accepted.
If i was drowning in debt i would not be applying for an ever increasing overdraft and borrowing more and more money. You obviously have a spending problem if just spend whatever a bank will give you. So if you blame that on the bank then you will make the same mistake again unless you accept what you did wrong and change how you handle money.0 -

There wouldn't be lenders if they had to stop people going in to debt.

Servicing your debts or "paying off everything" suggests the level of debt you have is manageable.
I'm guessing you're claiming irresponsible lending against Lloyds.
Your first port of call should be a complaint to them: https://www.lloydsbank.com/contact-us/how-to-complain.asp.
Then, if you don't like their response, take your complaint to the FOS.0
