Insurance for borrowing someone's car in Denmark

Hello,
We're going on holiday to Denmark and have the option of borrowing an acquaintance's car.
Does anyone know how this works in Denmark in insurance terms, i.e. is it like here where you get the car owner to put you on their insurance?
When previously looking into rental cars I read you need to get a code from the DVLA to do so. Would we need this also for borrowing someone's car?
Many thanks for any help and suggestions!

What does their insurance say?

Currently, most UK issued insurance policies cover third-party risks driving in other EU countries so start there, you may not need any other cover. Having said that it will only be third party so if you wreck the car the cost will fall on you anyway so you might want to talk to your insurer about extending the cover.0

the OP would need to be covered to drive a car not owned by him when abroad. as he wants to drive a friend's car.
It would be better to ask that friend about insurance conditions in Denmark.0 -
I assume you mean borrow the car of somebody already living in Denmark. That being the case, the simplest solution is likely to be getting added to their insurance.0
