I have just received a letter from my bank informing me that they failed to send me all the information we should have about payments and charges regards my Classic Vantage account during the period March 2012-2016. They have sent me £26 to be credited to my account.
How can I check whether they have sufficiently repaid any monies due? Has anyone else had any experience of this?

If you calculate it to be different, you can complain and ask them to check. If you;re not sure what the refund represents, ask them.
Many people have experience of this. Banks are required to rectify the situation where documentation has been missed. They won't be trying to cheat you out of a few quid, given the huge level of risk to them.0 -
Most people would just be happy to get an unexpected bonus but if you want to know more why don't you ask them how it was calculated.0

Isn't that payment just because they didn't give you the information they were supposed to?
If you can show that, because they didn't give you that information, you are financially worse off then claim some compensation. Otherwise be happy you have £26 more than thought.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
I’d love to see the day when people reject the initial offer and push for more and the bank turns around and says “s0d you then, we retract our initial offer altogether”.0

I might be reading it wrong, but to me it sounds like they identified (or someone identified for them) a gap where they didn't communicate some details, not that they calculate something wrong. And the £26 is a gesture of good will.
As already mentioned, if you could prove that you suffered financial loss as a result of this miscommunication, fell free to claim the amount.
Otherwise send them a mental "thank you" and buy a round for your mates on Lloyds0 -
Wow! must be something in the water.. take the money and run for the hills!0
