so the girl who was blank, was she asian or english? and the lovely women what was she?

Sorry i'm not quite sure what you are getting at..the woman who was blank was english but had no info on her screen so couldn't tell me anything the lovely woman is renowned in my branch for the only one to get anything sorted quicky and properly was also english...
If you are trying to say even the english people in the branch are as useless as the asians on the phone then please don't, at least she gave me a 2 min responce that i understood..that's what it's all about at the end of the day getting answers without having to repeat the conversation 10 times.

They're all useless - in my experience!! Call centre, branch, any nationality! My dispute with them is still dragging on - originally staretd in April and I escalated it in July - still no resolution. Hopefully the FO will have more luck with them than I had - get everything sorted and then go with a decent bank would be my advice!

"I am not racist, but..." is the classic preamble to be racist.
This thread started off OK, but deteriorated into a sequence remarking more on judging peoples racial background rather than their abilities.

Did it occur to you that the "asian" call-centre also may not have had info on their screens? You were quite derogatory to them, but were willing to allow a white person the benefit of the doubt.

    disgusting.

I am not a sexist, but, shouldnt you be in the kitchen cooking dinner.

Every week the "Money, help and advice" section of the Sunday Times has at least one story relating the problems that customers are having with Abbey. Today there are two. One is about somebody who had £2,000 taken out of their account because paperwork was sent to a wrong address by Abbey. The other was to do with Abbey's probate and bereavement centre that would, or could not, close the account of a woman's late father.

I have heard lots of reports about bad and incompetent service from the probate section. This is the last thing soembody needs. They have lost a member of their family, want to sort things out and all they get from Abbey is the worst service possible.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

I'm really not sure that saying that you can't understand someone and, as it seems, that they can't understand you, makes someone a racist.

What a load of cr*p, this was my money i was talking about not something minor..i'm sorry but i'm from the north, lots of my friends are from different countrys, nationalitys, backgrounds whatever you like to call it..what was i supposed to say the person on the phone who couldn't understand me?? whenever i call someone who is english they seem to have a perfectly normal conversation with me, like 2 companys yesterday who had my request sorted in 5 minutes like it should be.

Also the 'asian call centre' SHOULD have info on their screen it is the department that deals with all of Abbeys customers so yes i think it is right that they should have an answer for me, maybe the same for my branch i guess but at the end of the day they couldn't tell me and that was where i was told to ring..

I don't really think there was any need for the sarcy remark as to me cooking dinner was there? guess you are single having an attitude like that!! Iv'e cooked thanks and am off to post my letter to Asia..don't worry it will be typed up in the correct language!
