Some months my earnings go below the minimum 12k UC income floor (usually quiet times, and times I have to spend out on materials) . Does this mean I wouldn't get it?0 -
UC is worked out on monthly earnings, not yearly like tax credits. Minimum income floor will be minimum wage x 35 hours per week.Lord_Percy wrote: »Some months my earnings go below the minimum 12k UC income floor (usually quiet times, and times I have to spend out on materials) . Ok, have phones and CTC has been stopped and CHB will run into Sept.
They said if he signs on or works then CHB will stop straight away from that point.
Only thing now is, whilst he's looking for work, does he sign on for JSA or UC? The YouGov site says there are 3 types of JSA and the person I spoke to about CTC said to go on UC.
He's a little confused as what to apply for.0 -
As previously advised, all areas are now a full UC area so new claims for Income Related JSA won't be possible, it will have to be UC that he claims. Once he claims this then your CB will stop. Under 25's standard monthly amount is £251.77.Lord_Percy wrote: »Only thing now is, whilst he's looking for work, does he sign on for JSA or UC? New Style JSA is only for those that have paid enough NI contributions in the previous 2 tax years from working. As he was a student then this won't apply to him.
Apply online for UC here. https://www.gov.uk/apply-universal-credit0
