Wrong reg used in Just park app

I used Just Park via phone to pay for parking in Whitby May bank holiday weekend - from 10am until 1pm the following day.
Last week I received a postal PCN from IPAYMYPCN to say that I had overstayed. I emailed them to say that I had paid the correct amount and had left before 1pm.
They've rejected this and said that the wrong reg number was given but they have stated that payment was made.
When I checked the Just Park app, my father's car reg has been used. I phoned Just App to pay for the parking on my mobile. It automatically knew who I was based on this. However, as I use the app for both my car and my dad's, with my dad's car the last one on the app, I can only assume that it has taken that reg and not mine. I do not recall being asked for my reg over the phone or having to confirm the reg.
Can i further appeal? Should I contact Just Park? I really do not want to pay when I did actually pay for the parking.

Has the rejection offered POPLA - are they in the BPA AOS?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Small fry outfit. Haven't seen them around here very often.
Let's see what they make of a full blown POPLA appeal. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Have you read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #3, which tells you how to construct a POPLA appeal?
We get up to 100 threads a day asking the tiny number of forum regulars to type out detailed, step by step instructions for each of their specific cases.
If we attempted to do that, the board would collapse within a day. Hence the production of the detailed advisory sticky, which in itself (and its ongoing updating) has taken the main author - Coupon-mad - hours upon hours of work. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
