Non profit

Hi

I recently registered with Companies House with the guidance of a CIC Director telling me what options to pick as we went through the registration.

At the moment it is just me as the PSC and Director but there is a small handful of us looking into becoming a CIC we currently a Limited Company by guarantee with share no capital. I have been informed this in non-profit (so at least we are on the right path).

A few of our members now want to leave due to other commitments and now I am worried that we do not qualify as a CIC? There will only be 2 of us, 1 full time and 1 part time evenings and weekends.

This is coming across to the community as just a limited company now, but that isn’t what was intended. Everyone is a volunteer and we aim to be providing a service to the community and low income families.

Is it alright to still do this as a limited company? Do we still need a article of association and other paperwork? The internet isn’t clear.

We aren’t trading yet.
