Barclaycard Charges

Hi All
I have a payment on a Barclaycard statement from 1999. It says 'Barclaycard Protection, Regular Payment £10.00
Can anyone tell me what this is? I put a question mark by it all those years ago as I had no idea what it was.
Many thanks in advance

Could be a card protection policy. Could be PPI.

If you only have one statement, it's hard to tell.

Credit card PPI was a percentage of the outstanding balance left on the card each month and so could fluctuate widely.

If it's an identical amount each month over a series of statements , it's not PPI.

1999 is now two decades ago..
