Esa cb ctc apprenticeship

I am 41 male and currently claim ESA support group I live with my partner 39 and her daughter 18. We currently receive ESA support group in my name, CB in partners name and CTC jointly. Her daughter is now starting an apprenticeship earning roughly £120 p/week. I'm told our CB and CTC will stop, the question I'm asking is; will it stop and if so, can her daughter claim anything additional i.e. universal credit whilst I claim ESA support group? It's all very confusing. If we do lose CB and CTC that is a drop of £77 per week from our combined income and can't really require her daughter to contribute much from her £120 per week or it's pointless her earning money to begin with.. please advise me what to do.. many thanks in advance..

CB and CTC will stop.
£120/week is more than your daughter would be entitled to if she were claiming UC.
If you are losing £77 but she now gets £120 then your collective income is £43 higher (although her income may be eroded by travel costs). Given that your daughter now has some income it is reasonable to ask her to contribute something towards food, bills etc.
Her apprenticeship is not pointless even though the financial rewards may be low. She is learning skills which will presumably prepare her for better paid work in future.
Your CB and CTC would not go on indefinitely anyway, your daughter is now an adult,Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -

Surely this hasn't come as a surprise? Child related benefits cease when the child starts working, including as an apprentice. You can ask for a contribution to household expenses. It may not be the full £77, but now that she is an adult, she should pay something. Also, it is not pointless her earning to begin with. An apprenticeship comes with education in her chosen field, practical experience, the opportunity of employment (whether with her current employer or elsewhere) at the end of the contract, an up-to-date reference, and perhaps most of all, self esteem.0
