Job advice needed

Hi guys
I am 28, live in Exeter and have recently handed my notice in at a customer service job.
I have almost hated this job since day 1.
The reason I stayed and why most people do is because it was good pay, good hours and there was overtime available.
I was also a temp there for 5 years.
Maybe I shouldn’t of handed my notice in without finding another job.
I am now finding it hard to find a job that pays just as good. £13 per hour.
I don’t hold any qualifications other then GCSE’s and A Levels.
I have signed up to a recruitment agency but I’ve heard nothing yet.
When looking for jobs all I’m seeing is jobs paid really bad or they are after certain qualifications or experience.
I enjoy
Photography
Social media
Working with children
Computers
But I don’t mind a complete change in role.
I just don’t have a clue what I want to do.
I am lucky that I do live at home
I’ve just felt really down really and worthless .
I am a likeable person.
Was just after some advice really and I hope what I am going through is normal
Thanks
Will

It's normal to start wondering if you've made the right decision. If you've hated the job, don't second guess yourself; you've made the right decision as at some point it will have just taken over and become all you think about.
I wouldn't worry about the qualifications part honestly - loads of people can get into roles with training and progress to earn as much/more as those with degrees etc.
With regards to the things you'd enjoy - working with children, most places will need childcare courses/training, so unless you're going to go into training for that then I'd maybe rule this one out for now.
Why not look at website or content exec roles? Check if there's any digital marketing agencies/companies nearby recruiting.
I wouldn't leave it in the hands of an agency personally - get on Indeed.co.uk, or on the jobs section of linkedin, as these are updated all the time with new roles, and once you've added your CV to them it's quick and easy to apply to.0 -
Sign up to my than one agency!
Keep checking Reed and other sites daily.
Be available to do temp work whilst you figure out what you want to do.
Go through your CV and do a list of likes / dislikes from each role you have done, see if that helps you decide where to go next.
I quit a job in February paying over £28k a year and am now temping, part-time earning £13.5k and am so much happier!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Money isn’t everything when it comes to working. My husband had a commercial management role that literally tore him apart. He was becoming anxious before leaving for work and it was affecting our home life with the children.
He had to realise it for himself which thankfully he did and he now does a basic 9-5 job (less money but we manage) and it was the best move ever. Well done for taking the leap and good luck for your new ventures!0 -
Thanks guys.
Just finding it hard to find a job I think I’ll enjoy. Most of the jobs are retail or jobs that involve qualifications or experience I don’t have0 -

Apply for everything that interests you (within reason) - a lot of places will require certain qualifications and skills before realising that candidate just isn't out there. If you tailor your CV to suit the role and emphasise the transferable skills you have, they might just be willing to give you the chance.
Also, maybe focus on getting your foot in the door of a good company? It might not be the position you want but it could lead to a better role down the line.0 -
You’ve mentioned you live at home, would you be in a position at all to do a bit of part time temping to meet your financial obligations and then perhaps some volunteer work to see if there’s anything in the areas you’ve mention to give you a taste of what’s involved?
There will be something out there that is what you are looking for it’s just going to to take a bit of time and effort to get there.0 -

Pay is normally based on skills. If you don't have any relevant skills or experience then you can pretty much expect to start at the bottom. £13 an hour isn't huge, but it is quite a way above minimum wage so it's unlikely you'll get that until you gain, or prove you have, relevant skills to whatever field it is.
If you are completely clueless then perhaps just sign up to a few agencies and do office temp work until you find something you enjoy.0 -
Don't just sign up with agencies, get yourself in there on a regular basis to check whether there is anything for you!Signature removed for peace of mind0

Hi guys
So the job agency wasn’t much help.
I’ve manage to get a job in a warehouse. I see this as a stop gap.
My dad said to me about doing and apprenticeship in maybe plastering.
My friend said bin that idea and go on an intensive plastering course.
How easy is it to get a job after doing the course.
I feel as tho the warehouse job isn’t for me in the long run and I just
Don’t know what to do in life0 -

I keep seeing ads for Google's free course about social media - you might find you know it all, but might be time worth investigating.
Have you looked for job ads around customer relationships/advertising/social media manager? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
