New to this game so be gentle.
Assuming I wanted to upgrade my car with £10K I had in a 5% net savings account. What would be the best option using a CC to make the purchase. i have read many posts regarding cashback cards but fail to see the benefit as opposed to a purchases card. The figures I am playing with are:
Cashback Card - 2% CC Charge -£200, Loss of Interest -£500 and cashback reward at 4% + £400 = Loss of £300
Purchases card - 2% CC Charge -£200
Do I assume that if you pay a CC charge ie. Car purchase or holiday then you are better with the purchases card but all other large money purchases go for the cashback card.
Help please.

Another cost you should look at is what the buyer may charge. When I asked about limits on buying a car on a CC, I was toldf there is a £500 limit. Anything above that would be charged at 2%. This may be cheaper than a balance transfer but you should check what charges would apply in your case.0

I bought a car with the help of one cash back and one interest free card. My local Audi dealer accepted £2000 on credit each card with no charge.
