Can I actually check the Broadband speed possible to my property

Hi, Can I actually check the Broadband speed possible to my property?

I keep seeing offers of figures up to but I know my property is slightly awkwardly situated which has limited me in the past, and in the past I never got the top speed I paid for. I am now reliant on the cable from the telegraph pole, I cannot have any ground cables easily.

I'm sure I went on a site in the past and found a way to check what was actually the fastest available speed to my property regardless of supplier so then I knew relisticly how good the providers promises were, but I cannot find anything like that now. All I get is sites showing me lists of what is on offer "Up To" speeds when I put my post code in.

Any help appreciated.

At the end of the day, you will only go as fast as the slowest segment you connect to

    Or, use this one.....https://www.speedtest.net/
The suppliers should give you a minimum of what to expect with their product now.

If you're on BT broadband put your telephone number into the following web page, if not BT then use the address checker link further down.

That doesn't help the OP as they want to know the actual speeds they can get or should expect, without asking the suppliers themselves the BT page I supplied further up is the best option.

It's possible that the suppliers themselves use the same backend for their tests.

I think that you are confused. The link I have supplied leads precisely to the information requested.
Your link doesn't cover all possible suppliers.
For instance, no sign of Virgin Media within the results from your link.

Am I missing something obvious with the Sam Knows site?

I put my phone number and postcode in which tells me which services I can get but the only speeds I can see are for upto 2Mbps for ADSL (which is wrong, should be 14Mbps) and BT FTTC for instance says FTTC is not yet not available in your area (I'm on fibre). Clicking on FTTC (not the BT FTTC) option just tells me which suppliers are not available here.

My search shows speeds for all, including FTTC when I enter both phone number and postcode.
The speeds shown match what is shown within your link. In addition, I also have Virgin Media cable availability and speeds shown.

Peculiar then as I've tried in Firefox rather than Chrome and neither gives any speeds and frequently just gives error messages such as invalid post code or telephone numbers. I've tried with my details and a family member who lives a few hundred miles away.
