It sounds like the rain is doing it for you.

I wish. Been here 4 years and it seems like there is a never ending supply.

We had a roofer scrape the worst of the moss off ours into buckets as we were getting blocked downpipes. We still get moss in the passage down the side of the house, but it's coming off next door's roof not ours. It was done some years ago and we don't seem to have had much regrowth. We don't have a TV aerial anymore. The worst of the moss appeared to be from where birds were sitting on the aerial and cr4pping on the roof which doesn't happen now.

You can get copper strips installed at the peak. The rain water reacts with it and creates a herbicide to keep the roof moss free.
Haven't had it done myself but maybe worth looking into.

I bet the paint would just pressure wash off the upvc. But really what was she thinking.

You probably want to do it if more than 10% is covered in moss.

Not had an issue with slugs :-)

Having a problem with moths in the house though. Never ending battle.

Mine's had moss for at least 50 years. A bit of extra insulation, the blackbirds love it (they are always pecking it to find bugs under). And it looks good, at least on my place.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.
