HSBC...switched current account but savings account still active

I recently switched my HSBC current account which has now been all closed, but they have left open the savings account I had with them which I had assumed was 'linked' to the current account but obviously not...
Either way there is currently nowt in it as I stuck any balance into the current account before switching across as it was earning pence anyway in the savings!
Would this savings account be eligible for any switching offers in the future or should I just request that HSBC close it down? (Just thinking if I ever want to switch back to HSBC in a couple of years when an offer possibly pops up the live savings account may mean I'm still treated as an 'active' customer...)
Thanks

You can’t switch savings accounts.
If you don’t need it just close it0 -

Switching offers relate to the current account switching service (CASS). Sometimes the terms of an offer will prohibit an existing current account customer from receiving a switch bonus but I don't think I've ever seen one that stops you from switching a current account if you've already got another product (loan, savings account etc.).0 -
The Current Account Switching Service (CASS) does not include or involve any kind of savings account, and the switch would not affect your separate savings account. You can just close it, or not.Evolution, not revolution0

@ Johntea
Are you referring to the HSBC Regular Saver account? If so, then I believe that HSBC will probably exercise their right to close your savings account as you are no longer eligible for the account.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0
