Here we are again, prospect of ANOTHER PIP appeal. Help!

After having won my PIP appeal only 6 months ago (after a two-year battle), here I am again. Not as bad as last time, but not great either.

I've kept the standard mobility award but my daily living award has changed from enhanced to standard. That's about £115 per month loss, a pretty big sum for me. :(

I think I could successfully appeal this; I'm missing a lot of points (and the stated reason doesn't even make sense). But, I'm not sure if I should. The letter doesn't mention when this award will end, it just says its for an "ongoing period". Part of me, the part which is absolutely sick of assessments, reviews and appeals just wants to accept the award in the hope it might mean I won't have to deal with any stress for 5+ years. I'm also worried that if I did appeal, even if I was successful, I'd end up with a relatively short award length and then I'd have to do this all over again. Could use some advice, what do you think?

Also...

Just got my ESA result, and I'm definitely going to have to appeal that because they've moved me from the Support Group into WRAG. Which just adds to the stress.

Are you sure it's for an ongoing period? Usually you're only given this if you have Enhanced for both and they don't expect any changes because you have the highest level of award.

As you don't have the highest award then i'm very surprised you have this. See link. https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/news/2018/june/ten-year-pip-reviews-people-most-severe-health-conditions

Did you request a copy of the assessment report to see what the recommendations were? If you didn't then i'd advise you to request it.

I think you need to appeal this, because at the next review they might decide that you don't qualify for any award. I understand that you are sick of the process, but just accepting the award now is not going to mean you are spared further reviews.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Yeah it definitely says ongoing. I will request a copy on Monday.

That's very odd because you haven't been awarded Enhanced for both. Maybe they DM went against the report, which is rare.

Hmm, and if I appeal, it's not unlikely (with my luck anyway), that I'll end up with a much shorter award length.

    So...is it worth it?
