    And don't forget to send a complaint / strong request for cancellation to the landowner if at all possible. Do this ASAP without identifying the driver.

    No need to ask for "Next Step" - thanks to the help I received on here, I visited the shop, asked for the manager, threw myself on his mercy (not literally, honest....) and he arranged for the ticket to be cancelled. Thanks, chaps!

    I haven't had a letter from UKCPS yet but I do have the email which UKCPS sent to the store manager:

    "Good morning,

    We would like to inform you that the parking charge reference xxxxxx has been cancelled.

    Please be assured, our systems have been updated accordingly."

    And when I log into the UKCPS payment portal, an error message comes up when I input the registration and charge reference number:

    "Sorry, there was a problem obtaining these details - please click here to try again."

    Hopefully, that means I'm in the clear?
