That's good news. Just looked at my emails and it's up to 0.9% for me as I've had the account for over a year and don't get the 0.1% bonus, but still a good rise. I was going to open the Virgin Current account that gives 2% on £1,000, but more for the linked savings account that is 1% up to £25k, but not sure if I'll bother now.Sea_Shell said:Now Marcus have increased to 1%, time to sell up the rest of the Premium bonds.
It's a fast moving market!
EDIT: Even better, I've just read the email fully and found out that I could put the bonus back on to the account online, so I have done that and it is now up to the full 1%.0 -
Are you sure you can't get the bonus?Audaxer said:

I've had my account for over a year and still get bonus. Online savings account. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)2 -
Thanks, yes I have just updated my account after re-reading the email and noticing that I could reinstate the bonus. I would never have thought a few years ago that I would be so happy with a 1% interest rateSea_Shell said:

Hasn't it been comparable anyway?
(Or not any better than Marcus or Tandem were a few days ago), but with with the balance management overhead
ETA this was in ref to Lloyds 5k interest.0 -
Its our emergency fund so not too bothered about a return. Thanks anyway.Stubod said:...I think PB's work best if you can afford to "max out", ie £50k per person...more likely to achieve the "average" rate?Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

I'm afraid any savings account is currently a negative return in real terms. A few years of this compounded will soon eat into savings. I am trying to stick more into funds, slowly chipping away at my cash pile.
It's just my opinion and not advice.3 -
I think club Lloyds equates to 0.79% on the full 5k.k_man said:Hasn't it been comparable anyway?

Well, yes. The joys of keeping an emergency cash fund, for when those investments fall through the floor! 😉SouthCoastBoy said:I'm afraid any savings account is currently a negative return in real terms. But let's not spend the next 10 pages discussing the pros and cons of a cash pot v. having it all invested.🤐
That's been done elsewhere 🤑😉How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -

I get 0.78% in my maths, but close enough.
Tandem has been 0.77% since start of March (until the recent increase).
Thing have indeed got bad if you are chasing 0.01% 😋0 -

I'm not chasing 0.01%. I'm moving from 0.78% to 1%.
