Wow that's a lot of nuts!!!! I don't think you have anything to worry about in regards to affording retirement.I don’t think so either.
My husband has the dual disadvantage of really not being interested in investment, and very concerned about the possibility of one or both of us needing care for pote tidally a very long time. Hence he pushed the IFA hard on the cash flow and stress testing thing.
I had a much simpler approach. I worked out what the withdrawal rate from our pot would be to give what we will eventually get from our DB’s, which was more than we were currently living on (because we had both moved from better paying into lower paying work in mid life). It was about 2.5%. So I reckoned we could afford it.2 -
