To be honest that is very much like my routine, slightly different for me as the wife still works so I tend to work around her shifts but I find similar to yourself that I get most things done in the morning and then relax the rest of the day. Helps that I read a lot so tend to sit in the garden with a good book when it is sunny. Hardest part for me is trying not to have a drink during the week when it is nice, found it easy in Winter just to drink at weekends but a lot harder in Summer. I tell myself all the running and dog walking I do nowadays makes up for it lol.
And yep I certainly do not miss work in the slightest.

Well this morning I was out the door early for my run, 7.45am.  6 miles done.

Now sitting in the sun with a glass of Prosecco and a brioche choc chip swirl.

My plan for today mainly includes watching the tennis, with short forays out into the sun.   Will finish off the Prosecco later!!!

    Not too shabby. 😉🥂☀️

So nearly 2 years on and it's funny how easy it is to fall into a new routine.    Or is that a rut??!!!    OK so the pandemic hasn't helped, but I think we need to start shaking things up a bit.    Our main problem is we're pretty rubbish at doing things in the afternoon.   We cram everything into our mornings, but then we can't seem to stir ourselves to shut up the house and go and "do", after lunch.   Especially now the weather has warmed up.

So far, it's looking very much like this...

    Mondays - Upstairs cleaning
Tuesdays - I go running (maybe food shopping)
Wednesdays - I go swimming (maybe food shopping)
    Thursdays - free
    Fridays - I go running
Saturdays - clean downstairs (sort and put washing on)
    Sundays - I go running

The rest of our general life "stuff" just fits in around the above frame.

How does that compare to your "rock and roll" retirement lifestyles folks??     Are we all just on a different hamster wheel?

But believe me, I don't miss work!!!!!

Excitement for today- done some shredding!
Just changed our Home/ Buildings insurance so shredded all old paperwork!

..if in doubt use the money you have probably saved by not going on holiday last year and get an electric bike.
We have been cycling "on and off" for a few years, but it has been getting harder with a typical max. journey of around 10-12 miles, (a bit hilly around these parts).
Electric bikes have significantly increased our "range" and given the opportunity for traveling further with the benefit of being able to cope with the hilly bits. not unknown to do the odd 30 miler now which would have been a complete none starter pre electric!

    Absolutely agree!
Since March last year I have been cycling at the weekends with my neighbours, one of whom has an e-bike. He was older by about a decade (early 60s vs 50s for the other 3 of us) and was able to comfortably keep up on our 60-100 mile jaunts. A mid-ride café stop became an excuse for him to top up the battery whilst attacking the bacon roll and coffee.
The e-bike certainly didn't mean he wasn't getting a good workout though - his HR trace / effort stats were impressive. It meant that he could keep up with us and his racing-whippet-son.
(he did have some sort of clever workaround for the 25kph limiter, as we usually bowl along at 30-35).
In spite of being a dyed-in-the-wool road cyclist, I am a fervent advocate for e-bikes.

Was the bike recommendation aimed at me?

Never been into cycling.  Had bikes, sold them years ago.

With the traffic like it is, no thanks.

I regularly cycle on the road, but when our children were younger we did a lot of cycling and very rarely ventured on the road. Stick the bikes on top of, behind or in a vehicle and there is a whole world out there of off-road cycling.  Parks, canal towpaths old railway lines, forestry commission trails etc.
