What was the first comic book superhero?
I think the answer is The Phantom (although you might want to do your own research, bear in mind it specifically asks for a COMIC BOOK superhero)

My research seems to say that Superman is considered to be the first COMIC BOOK Superhero appearing in the first edition of Action Comics in April 1938.
Although The Phantom predates Superman, he appeared in NEWSPAPER COMIC STRIPS from February 1936.

You'll have to decide for yourselves which answer they want.
