hard seach on file....never applied for credit

I started filling out a loan application with RBS but changed my mind halfway through...didn't fully complete or submit the application


There's now a hard search from them showing on clearscore


is just starting to fill in the form enough to warrant a search? or should I be looking to get it removed?

Are you sure it’s a hard search?

You must have progressed pretty far through the application for it to appear

Check other CRA, clearscore tend to lump searches together as "others searches" and doesn't differentiate between hard and soft search. What type of search does it say. It could be identity check or some other pre-application soft search rather than a hard search.

it only shows on Clearscore - under the Credit Application searches section of the Searches page
'Search for credit application' if you look at the details

Check equifax directly then, you can get a stat report free and it is provided instantly and see what it says on that one.
