I personally keep my own daily thread

Is there any easier and more foolproof way?

Not everyone is a "Professional Comper" who has the time, desire or inclination to keep track of bookmarks / links.

That's what this forum is for, if bumping (literally) a couple of daily posts a day 'causes you a problem, then sorry but you can just ignore those posts since you're all so organised and proficient? :)

(I am only talking those very few competitions that offer daily prizes / Instant Wins)

Think I need to leave this thread now before I get in trouble :rotfl:

I keep my own daily thread to save me the hassle and time of looking them up on the daily thread that ironically I maintain for everyone else that wants to use it.

I generally do ignore the bumps that happen as haven't the time or patience to let it bother me, but seeing as a discussion came about I thought seeing as I am in a grumpy mood today I would chip in :D

I didn't mean you (or mjm) specifically, I just mean in general.

I think bumping those few competitions would prove more beneficial to the masses rather than annoying a select few who have systems in place.

If it got to a point where there were too many being bumped then we might be having a different discussion, but I think it'll be literally 2 or 3 posts a day.

What "masses? The only available evidence is that it's a very small minority of users. The daily thread/bookmarking should only need to be mentioned once and job done.

If the daily thread has been pointed out and someone chooses not to use it or bookmark individual sites directly then that is up to them but there is no need to "bump" for their convenience and the possible detriment of the overwhelming majority of the rest.

One of the downsides of pointless bumping that can effect other users is that a useful bump (updated comp info etc) would be lost among all the pointless bumps, bit like the boy who cried wolf. Also having more competitions mixed in with new ones increases, however slightly, the chances of someone missing something (using the forum in it's simplest "as is" format).
